How the tiered structure works — and why it rewards collectors who move early.
What does 'limited edition' mean for these works?
Each artwork is released in a strict edition of 15 pieces. Once the edition sells through, no additional standard prints are produced. This finite structure is what gives collector-grade work its long-term value — scarcity is built in from the moment of release, not imposed after the fact.
What is the standard gallery size?
The gallery standard size is 24 × 36 inches. This format is the foundation of each edition and the reference point for all pricing below. Select works are also available in larger formats — see Monument Prints below.
How does tiered pricing work?
Each edition of 15 is divided into three tiers of 5 pieces each. The price rises as the edition sells through — rewarding collectors who acquire early with the best entry point. Once a tier is sold, it closes permanently.
| Tier | Pieces | Metal (24×36) | Acrylic (24×36) | vs. Tier 1 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tier 1 | Pieces 1–5 | $1,100 | $1,430 | Best entry value |
| Tier 2 | Pieces 6–10 | $1,375 | $1,788 | +25% |
| Tier 3 | Pieces 11–15 | $1,650 | $2,145 | +50% |
Why do prices increase as the edition sells?
The tiered model reflects collector-market dynamics: the first buyer takes on the most uncertainty and is rewarded for that conviction with the lowest price. As fewer pieces remain, scarcity increases — and so does value. This structure aligns price with rarity rather than inflating prices arbitrarily after the fact.
Do award-winning works have different pricing?
Yes. Where a work has received formal recognition — such as an International Ocean Art Award — a 15% premium is applied to the base price across all tiers. This reflects both the independent validation of the image and its heightened collectibility. The tiered structure still applies; the award premium simply raises the starting point.
| Tier | Pieces | Metal (24×36) | Acrylic (24×36) | vs. Tier 1 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tier 1 | Pieces 1–5 | $1,265 | $1,645 | Best entry value |
| Tier 2 | Pieces 6–10 | $1,581 | $2,056 | +25% |
| Tier 3 | Pieces 11–15 | $1,898 | $2,468 | +50% |
What is a Monument Print?
Monument Prints are large-format works up to 40 × 60 inches, available where the image resolution and subject matter support that scale. They are included within the same edition as the standard gallery prints and carry a separate pricing structure to reflect their substantial presence and production complexity.
| Format | Medium | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Monument | Metal (up to 40×60) | $6,000 |
| Monument | Acrylic (up to 40×60) | $6,500 |
What are Artist Proofs?
Each edition includes Artist Proofs — the most exclusive pieces in the run. Artist Proofs are personally customized interpretations of the digital negative, with possible variations in color, tone, or composition that distinguish them from the standard release. They carry a significant price premium reflecting their singular nature and scarcity within an already limited edition.
Which tier am I buying in right now?
Current tier availability is listed on each work's product page. VIP Insiders receive 48-hour early access before public release — which means they have first access to Tier 1 pricing before it closes. If you're not yet an Insider, you can join at no cost via the VIP Insider page.
Are other sizes available beyond 24×36?
Yes. Many works are available in custom sizes — 28×42, 32×48, 36×54, and up to 40×60 for Monument editions. If a particular scale suits your space, reach out directly. I'm glad to discuss what works best for your room, lighting, and viewing distance without any pressure or formality.
If you’re considering a piece and aren’t sure which presentation best suits the work or the space, I’m always happy to talk it through.
